The Akathist Hymn

Dedicated primarily to the Virgin Mary, the Akathist Hymn is a lengthy, very poetic hymn of thanksgiving and praise. It celebrates Her role in the Mystery of the Incarnation of Christ and Her protection of the faithful.

The English translation from the Greek language in this book is widely acclaimed for its accuracy. With Greek text on the left side and English translation on the opposing page, following the service in either language flows quite easily. The text for the service is printed in black type while the narratives are printed in red. This Service is prayed during the first five (5) Fridays of Lent.
